I was looking at using my FBX as a bouncer to stay connected to some IRC channels. Is there anything preinstalled that can do it or is my best bet to install ZNC via the terminal? It looks a bit complex!
I am not sure what “bouncer” exactly means, but if you install Quassel on your freedombox and use Quasselclient on your computer to join some IRC channels, you will be on the channels as long as your freedombox is running.

That’s exactly what I’m looking for thanks! I’m new to using IRC and thought “bouncer” was the word they use for what you described. No wonder I couldn’t find the information if I’m searching for the wrong words
