Removal of https and http services from bridge0

  1. I installed freedombox
  2. I started to learn about how to manage freedombox
  3. I had this idear that I could unbind Plinth/Cockpit from Port2/eth1 (external) on my pi
(Port 1/eth0 is the internal, but in retrospect I am guessin you all know that), so that I could bind it to Port 1/eth0). The point was I don’t need remote access to plinth/cockpit from the outside world. I need it on the internal network only. (also guessin this could have been prevented had I configured bridge0 correctly when creating it).
  4. I deleted the services through cockpit firewall
  5. I turned around and checked to see if I lubed myself before I screwed myself
  6. I came here for help.

Any suggestions how I can re-enable this from the command line because Cockpit does not play well with lynx?

Regarding 3: How did you unbind it from the port? I suppose you will just need to reverse that change.

Regarding 4: FreedomBox has an option “Re-run setup” for every app. Perhaps this could restore the services for Cockpit.

Jvalleroy: thank you for taking the time to respond. What escaped me throughout this entire process seemed to be that most of the GUIs, web based or not, are dependent on CLI utilities. Cockpit is no different. I used nmcli and other CLI tools to put the service back and gain access - it just took two days of pursuing my pi hard drive IOT to figure that out… Once in, I reran setup and everything worked. Thank you for taking the time to respond - the issue is closed as I have repaired my mistake. I just walked away from *nix for way too long -
