So I am trying to set up my Joplin notes in a subfolder in Nextcloud Files, and it will not sync.
The only errors I can find are in journalctl log and say:
“…freedombox nextcloud-freedombox[133253]: ::1 - Catalyst 18/Nov/2024:18:58:52 +0000 “PROPFIND /nextcloud/remote.php” 404”
There are no errors in the nextcloud-admin logs.
Joplin will sync to the root of Files, but that is not ideal.
Thanks!

I started using the NextCloud integration today. That's a pretty nice feature. Before finding this project, I almost gave up trying to find an Open Source app and went back to Evernote.
Anyway, I had the same issue as mentioned in this comment by @chbmb:
https://github.com/laurent22/joplin/issues/4#issuecomment-361101161
The issue is that all notes seem to sync to the root directory in Nextcloud. Do you think it would be possible to setup notes to go to a subfolder instead? I might even be able to work on implementing this myself if you think it's a good idea. If not, I could perhaps setup a separate NextCloud account just for syncing my notes.
Thank you for this great app!
e.g. use WebDAV path like your.nextcloud/remote.php/webdav/joplin
for subdir joplin
I just tested joplin for the first time, take a backup before changing sync location (you can easliy loose your data according to joplin docs)!
Another option would be to have an explicit user with nextcloud access, but that is not needed…
So, not a freedombox issue, can be closed
So if you are saying that I need to add the joplin folder to the end of my webdav address, I did try that, and it didn’t work.
I’ve had this same setup working with a previous Nextcloud server, and it worked with no issues.

I tried it successfully in a freedombox nextcloud, did you create the dir before (point to existing)?
At least the joplin-desktop client worked (maybe try that client explicitly to set up).
The Joplin directory exists prior to sync.
Still receiving the 404 error. Stumped.
In just trying different things, I hit the answer:
I had to change the name of my Joplin folder to a lower case “j” and that solved the problem.
