I’m learning about cloud computing and I was wondering if Freedombox is a good source for learning more about how cloud servers work? Can I use it to learn topics and methods that are commonly used in other cloud servers? Does it provide meta data for more complex things that happen in the backgrounds(metadata on PaS?). Sorry if I’m using the wrong terminology, this is all new to me.

In my opinion FreedomBox is great for learning. You should try out and see for yourself…
The main FreedomBox project is good for learning about web applications and servers in general. FreedomBox is a platform for hosting servers but only on a single machine so far. You might find the framework to be an interesting PaaS case study.
