Matrix Server Broken by Update

Hi, It appears my Matrix server is somehow broken out of the blue. FB says Matrix needs an update. Selecting Update seems to result in the error included below. Could you someone please help me decipher what this means?

I tried a restart of FB, also ran the available updates from Cockpit, same problem it seems:

It appears to keep trying to update and it fails the same way each time as per the Matrix page. When I first found this today, there were probably 8 to 10 of these identical message blocks.

Do I need to grab some logs or anything else? Happy to do what I can to get this working again. Maybe I will try to restore a backup for now.
