I was looking at the Freedombox for Communities idea and I wondered if it would be possible to expand Freedombox to be more distributed and interconnected.

- I could replicate all data between the boxes with SyncThing, but what if I want each box to have different data. Say one has books and one has magazines. Could we have them all displayed in the same collection and just accessed over a vpn tunnel.

Cross box chat is already a handled by the Matrix server, But there are so many services of the Freedombox that would be isolated, what if we could tie multiple of them together?
