Cockpit doesn’t work in IOS

I tried using fbx as a login along with the password and it does not work. after a number of attempts I get the captcha.

I went in via SSH and redid the sudo passwd fbx twice changing just the password but I am unable to log into my Freedom Box.

fbx user will not be allowed as valid user at the FreedomBox web interface. Only use this user for SSH and Cockpit (that too for debugging).

I forgot to mention that the User App in Freedom Box does not show the fbx user and I cannot create the fbx user as it is reserved.

This is expected behavior. fbx user is only for rare debug situations.

Does the Cockpit login work with fbx user? What do you get?

No. It will not accept the password in Freedom Box.

The fbx account is not expected to work as login for FreedomBox web interface. It should, however, work for Cockpit available at https://my.freedombox.rocks/_cockpit.

Steps:

1. Logged into Freedom Box using my original credentials.
2. Launch Cockpit and I get the Debian GNU server screen login.
3. Try logging in with fbx and I get white screen. I also note it is the IP address.
4. Refresh browser and still white screen.
5. Change browser to be http:/my.freedombox.rocks/_cockpit/
   and I get a different Debian GNU/Linux login Screen.
6. Input fbx credentials here and I get wrong user name or password.

Could you also try to login to Cockpit with your FreedomBox admin user and a newly created FreedomBox admin user?

If this does not work, I will look at how we can further debug and post information.

I created a new admin user and logged into Freedom Box. I launched Cockpit and got the white screen with the IP address. I refreshed it and white screen.
I put in the browser bar http://my.freedombox.rocks/_cockpit and got the Debian GNU/Linux login screen. I logged in with the new admin user and this failed.

Thanks. Some additional info for you.
I have reflashed the firmware likely 25 times trying different ways to get it working … I even tried the weekly firmware.

I have a complex system so at least twice I tried a new load using only my laptop and the Freedom Box direct connected to one of my modem/routers. This removed all other devices that could interfere with the initial setup.

During the initial install there is a question:

1. Setup DMZ
2. Setup Port Forward
3. Defer setup.
   I have not tried DMZ.
