Hi,
First time posting here, so I just wanted to say this project is amazing and all of the good people who help maintain this are doing some great work! Thank You So Very Much! I plan on actively promoting this project once I can get my own instance sorted out.
Now to the problem I am experiencing: I cannot access the Cockpit from the Admin Page. I am met with:
Connection failed
There was an unexpected error while connecting to the machine.
Messages related to the failure might be found in the journal:
journalctl -u cockpit
Been reading through the guide ( FreedomBox/Manual/Cockpit - Debian Wiki ), so hopefully it is up to date/complete.
The biggest clue I have found so far is that I cannot seem to access the FreedomBox portal or Cockpit from the domain I registered with the system during the initial setup. *I installed FB on a fresh install of Debian 11 on my own PC if that matters at all.
I can only seem to access the FB portal from the local IP of my server, but I realize that is not going to work with Cockpit as the documentation states. Everything in the FB portal seems to work fine, but Cockpit refuses to open. Did I do something wrong during the initial freedombox install, or perhaps something went wrong?
Here is the contents of my cockpit.conf:
*NOTE: I tried adding the local ip of my server to the cockpit.conf file (such as: https://192.168.x.x) for troubleshooting purposes, rebooted the server, but it’s the same issue. I realize that probably won’t work any, but I don’t know what else to look for. I’m not an expert with Linux, but I’m not totally helpless either and willing to read/learn!
Here are the contents of the journal. Unfortunately, it doesn’t say much.
