Can't Find FB on Network

If you are asking for support for an issue, please include the following information at the top of your post:

  • Whether your FreedomBox is plugged into a router at home or not (if not, please specify how it is connected to the internet)
Yes, connected to router via the supplied ethernet cable
  • The month and year you bought your kit (feel free to omit if you want to preserve some privacy, but this could be helpful information)
    December 2024
  • The version of FreedomBox your are running (available by clicking on the “?” in the top menu → “About”)
Unknown as I’ve been unable to access the interface

Received my new FB and followed set up instructions (insert SD, connect to router, connect to power). Gave it some time for setup then tried to navigate to freedombox.local as directed but get a ‘can’t connect to server’ message. Have tried different browsers with same result. Have tried a different ethernet cable and different ports on the router - same result. My ISP (who supplied and monitors the router) says the FB isn’t connected to the network.

I’m not a tech person so was hoping the ‘plug and play’ nature of FB would be appropriate. Sadly not so far!

Please help!

Is the computer from which you are trying to access your Freedombox connected to your routeur as well?

If you connect your freedombox to a monitor, in the information displayed, it should be written that you can use fredombox.local or the local IPv4 address to access your freedombox. If you can see that, try with the local IPv4 address (something like http://192.168.1.34, putting random values here).
