1 service has failed (freedombox-setup-repositories.timer)

Problem Description

  • Cockpit overview warns about : 1 service has failed without any details.

  • With a ssh CLI

$ systemctl
● freedombox-setup-repositories.timer     not-found failed failed
  • About the file system

I’ve seen that in /etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/ directory, the symbolic link freedombox-setup-repositories.timer links to /lib/systemd/system/freedombox-setup-repositories.timer that don’t exist (any more).

I could

  • remove (myself) /etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/freedombox-setup-repositories.timer or (better) wait for a futur update.

I think it is not urgent
It seems to me that the FreedomBox I am pleased to use is doing not so bad.

We have removed the timer recently in favour of a simpler implementation. We assumed that the debhelper will automatically disable the timer when the timer is removed. This does not seem to be the case. I created an issue to track and fix this:

You can safely remove the lingering link meanwhile.

I done a proposition of postinst snippet.

I don’t know if that could be enough.
