New, powerful FreedomBox hardware available for purchase!

What is the little tab stocking up on the top?

(Edited to remove dumb questions that if I had looked more carefully at Libre Crafts, I would not have asked)

The tab sticking up at the top pulls off the lid covering the drive bays.

Really excited about these machines!!

One question: I barely know what im saying but do they have the IME/PSP disabled? Or can someone explain how to safely disable it?

Thanks!

It is finely knitted flexible looped fabric ribbon that can lay flat or be bent over the back.

RE: Libre Crafts AMD Ryzen 7 5825U Freedombox

Handsome!

I’m not that familiar with what you’re speaking of, but in looking thru the AMI BIOS config screens, I see the following:

Advanced->Trusted Computing…
TPM 2.0, Firmware 3.92, Vendor AMD

Advanced->AMD CBS
AMD CBS Revision number 0x10

SOC Miscellaneous Control
  PSP RPMC Switch            Auto
  ABL Console Out Control    Auto
  ABL PMU message Control Auto (fixed)

Security->Secure Boot
secure Boot Disabled

FYI, the BIOS screen is accessed during boot with DEL on a keyboard.
I was able to boot from a live USB drive into other Linux OSes w/o issue.

The OP refers to the Intel Management Engine, a non-free OS internal to all modern Intel CPUs and not visible to the OS, which looks like the perfect place for a backdoor (it has access to all CPU resources and it has its own network protocol stack).

I know less details about AMD, but I think all modern AMD CPUs have the AMD PSP which looks functionally similar.

rickbol thank you for that BIOS info and yes, thank you, Avron, you are correct.
