# System \> name services, Umlaut

I did my first trial with multiple domaines on my FBx.
First was to add a new name to System \> name services (might be called differently in English, I am using the German interface).
My new domain has an Umlaut (ö) which is possible since some time now. I know some programs (actually many) still have issues with these Umlaut and thus the xn–… is often employed.
Now my question: FBx does not allow Umlauts in the domain name. Is there a reason behind or is it just the syntax checking which does not yet allow Umlaut?

We have not yet implemented support internationalized domain names yet. I created an [issue](https://salsa.debian.org/freedombox-team/freedombox/-/issues/2496) to track the implementation of this feature.
Are you able to add a domain to FreedomBox using the ‘xn–’ scheme and get it to work properly?

I could add it. Had some problems with DynDNS but that was due to strato and I managed to solve it.
Let’s encrypt is not yet working, throws an error, which might be due to a redirect which I had set up initially and which might still be partly active. I will try again tomorrow.
