[SOLVED] Zoph update error

Aug 16 update - This may be a problem in FreedomBox and I need some advice

  • I have removed tt-rss in preparation for the distribution upgrade
  • I have removed searx in preparation for the distribution upgrade
  • apt update tells me all (bookworm) packages are up to date
  • apt-get --fix-broken install tells me that there are no operations to do

Apt/dpkg clearly believe that the zoph package is just fine. Zoph works when you use it. Plinth constantly notifies that it is updating Zoph and in fact is because you can get some messages about apt being busy.

I’d prefer not to uninstall Zoph and have to deal with the many thousands of photos I’ve finally got in there, but I don’t see any way around this at the moment.

  • You cannot disable the app from the zoph app management page
  • There is no service associated directly with zoph to mask
  • dpkg says the package is up to date and the installation is not damaged

My only option in the zoph app management page is to uninstall.

Once the zoph update attempt fails I see this error in the app management page:

I have this notification:

Diagnostics are all passing:

dpkg-query -s zoph
# dpkg-query -s zoph
Package: zoph
Status: install ok installed <= this is means everything checks out for the package.
