Hi,

I came here because I couldn’t see the MLDonkey app on the app list anymore. Sad to see it’s been removed (as it wasn’t available in Bullseye I had downloaded it from the Debian -- Package Download Selection -- mldonkey-server_3.1.7-2_armhf.deb page and I am using it along with a headless instance of gtk-gnutella that I control from SSH so that my FreedomBox is in fact a seedbox for the eDonkey and Gnutella P2P networks).

By the way, I see MLDonkey is available on sid, so is there a chance for it to be restored in the future?

Thank you for your work on FreedomBox.

Unfortunately, mldonkey is not being maintained well in Debian. There is a outstanding issue that is causing it to fail when building from source. No one has stepped up to fix it. Usually, FreedomBox contributors tend to help out with such Debian issues. I believe the version in unstable will also be eventually dropped due the issue. We contacted the original author of MLDonkey support in FreedomBox and they were not available for fixes and agreed to drop the app. We can certainly bring it back in FreedomBox if someone steps up to bring it back into Debian.
